We are so excited to be back for Santa Barbara County Farm Day 2026 and to welcome the community to our office for a fun-filled Farm Day Fair!
Join us for a day of hands-on learning and celebration with complimentary compost, veggie seedlings, music, activities for children, and so much more. It’s our way of giving back, sharing what we do, and creating a space where families can connect with local agriculture in a meaningful and memorable way.
National Truck Driver Awareness Week

It’s National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, and we’re proud to recognize the hardworking men and women who keep our country moving. 🚛
Every day, truck drivers travel countless miles to deliver the goods and resources we rely on—from fresh groceries and medical supplies to fuel, building materials, and so much more. Their dedication ensures our shelves stay stocked, our businesses stay running, and our communities stay connected.
But behind the wheel is more than just a driver—it’s a person who sacrifices time away from family, works long hours on the road, and demonstrates incredible commitment to keeping America moving forward.
Recycling Week 2026
Recycle Week 2026 happening November 9th-15th, is a dedicated campaign that aims to raise awareness about the importance of recycling and encourage individuals, communities, and organizations to take action to reduce waste and promote sustainability.
This week-long event serves as a reminder of the positive impact recycling has on the environment and encourages everyone to make recycling a part of their daily lives. Recycle Week 2026 is an opportunity to learn, engage, and contribute to a more sustainable future!
Happy National Recycling Day! November 16th, 2026
National Recycling Day, also known as America Recycles Day, is celebrated every year on November 16th. This national observance promotes the importance of recycling and encourages everyone to take action toward a cleaner, more sustainable future.
On this day, communities across the country come together to:
- ♻️ Recycle properly and learn what materials can be reused
- 🛒 Purchase products made from recycled materials
- 🌱 Reduce overall waste by making eco-friendly choices

The City of Santa Maria Utilities Department will be having its 4th annual Pumpkin Smashing Event on Sunday Nov 2nd from 1-3pm!
Pumpkin Smash Event
This family-friendly event will be held at Rotary Centennial Park- 2625 S College Dr, Santa Maria CA
Admission and parking are free.
Participants may bring any size and quantity of pumpkins and gourds and throw them into a collection bin (provided by Engel & Gray/Harvest Blend Compost). Multiple targets and pumpkin bowling will also be available.
This event is intended to be a fun way for the community to divert pumpkins from the landfill by providing a location for residents to bring their pumpkins for composting.

Farm Day 2025- September 6th
We unfortunately will not be participating in Farm Day 2025.
However, be sure to look for us in 2026 with exciting news!
Even without us…. Farm Day 2025 is going to be a great day!! More than 20 Santa Barbara County farms, ranches, and agricultural organizations will open their doors and invite the public to experience a day full of FREE agricultural activities and tours during the 7th Annual Santa Barbara County Farm Day!
Visit a Participating Facility to learn more about the farm origins of your food, meet some of the folks responsible for producing the food we eat, and more!
Spring Compost & Garden Fair
Our annual Compost & Garden Fair celebrating International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) happened on Saturday May 10th, 2025 from 10am to 1pm
Our attendees embarked on a journey where curiosity met discovery, and STEM education comes to life through composting! Students, educators, or simply a curious explorers, join embraced the wonders of composting and cultivating a deeper appreciation for the intersection of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in our everyday lives!
